FLIGHT 93 MEMORIAL COMPETITION
Somerset, PA
The implication of sacrifice is elevated by embracing flow of water. The entire site is segmented into three symbolic territories.  Each territory represents Chaos, Disconnection and Endurance. As a whole, those three values are integrated into a virtue of unity, commemorating honorable sacrifices of those individuals in flight 93.
The project consists of three architectural entities – Stream, Pond and Main Memorial Building. Stream leads visitors to Pond, which embeds the Memorial Building. The shape of memorial building embraces the sacred ground without any interruption, being detached from the surroundings by water.
Outside the pond there are forty hollowed holes with lightings toward sky where any relative can see and commemorate those passengers and crew of flight 93.
